Alcohol abuse treatment is based on the principles of voluntariness, individuality, comprehensiveness and refusal to drink. The principle of voluntariness is the patient's consent to treatment. Without it, therapy is impossible. By coming to the hospital of their own free will, the person consciously and purposefully establishes voluntary cooperation and trusting relationship with the doctor - this is the main condition of treatment. If a person is dragged into a doctor's office, trust and cooperation are out of the question.
